HAMPER HELP - mexican theme and italian theme

Hello
I am making my hampers for Christmas and cannot seem to find a tortilla basket/keeper. Have looked on ebay but they are either £20 or from America for about £8. Does anybody have any idea where else I could look?

So far the contents are:
refried beans
tortillas
mexican cookbook
iron skillet and wood stand
oven glove
chillis
jalepenos

Any other ideas as to what I could put in it?

I am also making a risotto hamper with the following contents but am now stuck :
risotto book
risotto/paella pan
risotto spoon
rice
dried mushrooms
Thought about adding :
white wine
butternut squash
asparagus

Thanks in advance

  • Not much help but you could get/make a mexican flag or two for decorations. Easy to print and stick on skewers for a more themed effect.

Hi Sarky - a few ideas...

For the Mexican - packet mexican spices? tequila? limes? taco shells or tortilla crisps? Stick on mexican moustache?!

For the Italian - dried or fresh herbs? Olive oil? Parmesan or Grana Padano cheese? Squash might work better than asparagus as it lasts longer.

    Your hampers sound lovely!
