Tin v Tupperware - which is best

Options
In an effort to lose a little weight prior to my holiday (so I can afford to gain a little!!) I have made some meringues.

My question is what is the difference between an airtight tin and a tupperware or (lock and lock in my case). Previously I have kept them in a tin (old Quality Street tin).

Any thoughts on the subject.

+ however may £2 coins I have saved in my Terramundi since 2000.

Well I need to be able to see what is in a container else I tend to forget about the contents - so that's a vote for tupperware!

You really don't want to know how old a packet of cheese biscuits got before I rediscovered themm once!

The tin is not airtight so your meringues will soften - if they last long enough :)
Sweet tines are fine for cakes as a little moisture stops them from drying. For the meringues use the lock and lock

If it is a cake, I personally would keep it in a tin which would be cooler than Tupperware. For meringues - once they have dried out ,it doesnt really matter whether you use a tin or Tupperware.

I adore meringues -lovely filled with creme fraiche which is easier than whipping double cream. I particularly like pavlova filled with black and green grapes and peppermint aero! Sod the diet ! :rotfl:

You haven't seen the list of restaurants I have noted for eating at. Mind you I think my meringues are working out slightly higher than shop bought at 2.5 points each.

Oh well I will just have to allow for them.;)

I am a total convert to those clip and lock boxes - you can get them quite cheap at Tesco. I use them for lunch boxes, in the freezer etc. :T
