Foundation that looks good in photographs?

I mostly wear mineral foundations no7 or bare id, but also have other liquid foundations, estee lauder double wear light, and several clinique and chanel ones, so not cheap makes but none of them photograph well, i've even tried wearing heavier makeup when i know i will be photographed, i'm fairly pale anyway and in photos i look ghostly and ill, i've asked people if i looked ill that day in real life and they said no, so it must be the foundation i was wearing. I find myself destroying bad photos which means i haven't many of me and my children, i would love to have a family photo done but can't risk myself ruining it, my child are pale too and look fine in photos, i'm not imagining it either my mum and partner agree i don't photograph well.
Anyone else find this? or know what foundation does photograph well? what must all the celebs use?

Hi! Just a few other thoughts as a pale foundation is the right way to go on a pale complexion, taking into account your underlying skin tone.
Do you wear blusher/highlighter, and are you confident with the colours you use for your eyes lips etc?
Is your hair colour natural or do you colour it? If the latter could your hair colour be too dark for your complexion ?
Have you thought much about the colours that suit you clothes wise, could the colours you wear be 'draining' you?

Hi Bronnie
I have the oddest skin colour most foundations are either too pink or too yellow. Even the lady at the perscriptives counter couldn't decide and i ended up leaving empty handed. My grandad is indian, so very dark skin, my mum still has darkish skin and holidays lots. I have the darkest malteser eyes i'm told, get lots of good comments about my eye colour. I have very dark hair, sometimes i put a colour on to cover the greys but i'm careful not to go darker, this has now faded, always use a no amonia wash in one. in the sun my hair does have a red tinge to it, have had highlights before that went an horrible ginger colour, they have to use loads of bleach to get it blonde, it didn't suit me, but have only had it done the once, perhaps a different salon would get different results.
I keep buying different shades of blushers but they are either too pink or too orange, makes me look grubby, have my eye on the georgia benefit one at the moment. Lip colour i go for a rosey pinky/red, nothing too dark or pale.
Clothes wise black does not suit me, nor does white or red, beige/cream or brown.....i'm certain purple looks good on me, people always tell me so. I've tried working out my colours but i'm uncertain what season i am, perhaps i need to pay out and have someone tell me. If i wear a black top with a low neck i think its ok as its away from my face.0 -
I have fairly pale skin too so I know how you feel! I always wish I was tanned but what can you do! I was spending a fortune on make up trying to get ones that didnt make me orange and ones which didnt dry my skin out, but was getting nowhere. So about 2 years ago I took myself into Debenhams and had a look around. I ended up going to the MAC counter and a very kind girl sat me down, took all my make up off and re-applied it with their products. I was amazed at the difference it made. They knew exactly which shades suited me. I have been using it ever since and i still love it. The only thing is its quite expensive, but they do say u get what u pay for and where make up is concerned I totally agree.
My suggestion is try the same, There are plenty of different make up counters in Debenhams so your bound to find one make to suit you! Hope this helps!- Winners make things happen, losers let things happen -:j0 -
I'm willing to splash out on the right foundation/skin products after all you wear your face every day and i'm very insecure about my face. My nearest mac counter is quite a few hours away and is a brand i haven't tried, i live on the south coast, being pregnant and already having 2 children, one with extra needs makes traveling a major issue, perhaps gatwick airport the next time we go on hol might have some. I do remember getting a good colour match on a bobbi brown foundation stick a few years ago, but it made my skin feel tacky/sticky maybe i should try there again.0

I agree about splashing out! Its the only way to get decent products for me as I have quite sensitive skin! Thats a pity its so far from you, they have a website but thats not much use as you don't know which shades you need!
Its worth a try going back to the bobbi brown counter.. im sure they will have other products which might suit your skin better. It seems to be more expensive than MAC so therefore should be even better! Hope you get sorted... I know how annoying it is trying to get the right one for you! Good luck!
