16's bank account

hello

i was wondering besides

visa electron and solo card

are there any other cards which under 18's can apply for ??

if so which bank does them?. the reason i ask is i am going france and i would rather take money on a card that is accepted in france rather than carry cash.

i am 16 year's old.

thank you.

Dont think any will offer Maestro cause it is usually on current accounts for those aged 18+.

Isnt Solo/Electron accepted in France anyway?

i wouldn't mind travellers cheque but the thing is that i have never used them before.

i think that a card will be hassle free.

Many Solo cards have Maestro logo on the back and can be used abroad where Maestro logo is displayed. Nationwede have Smart acoount with Cirrus cash card that can be used to draw cash (comission free) abroad. Also there are prepaid Maestro cards that are more expensive to use: see http://www.bluecorner.co.uk/
    EDIT: see my correction below.

I think my information about Nationwide cash card was incorrect. Cash card coming with the Smart account is not Cirrus. Sorry.
