Our dyson died on us so I thought we would have to buy a new one, looking at a minimum spend of £140. Then in our local town we found a small independent electrical shop who serviced and fixed the faulty cable for £28, bargain - £112 saved!

(Anyone living in Cheshire, Shropshire, North Wales, Staffordshire who would like their dyson serviced and mended email me, and I can give you the shop details. He mends them in a matter of days so its worth the drive, money saving and it is a nice town for shopping in so you could always combine it with a day out when you drop it off and pick it up!)

Comet have got the 'vroom' model for £199 here:

    Dyson vroom

It is similar to the animal, it comes with a mini-turbine head which is a smaller version of the one that comes with the animal. We got one and are impressed with it.

There are a couple of other sites with similar prices, but I can't find anywhere significantly cheaper.
