Early Discharge. Does it happen in Scotland?

Just got a SOA to fill in for my 6 month review. I keep reading about ED's but all the posters are in England or Wales.

So is this a possibility in Scotland? Do not expect it even it is but....... sometimes it is nice to dream :o

  • i understand the scottish can be tight lol
  • Only way for an early discharge in Scotland would be if a lump sum was paid into the pot to make up the initially proposed contributions. Then your Trustee could write to the creditors seeking an early discharge. It's possible that they might agree although they could well decide that they would rather let the arrangement run the full term in the hope that additional funds become available - say from inheritance or a lottery win.

Ah well I normally dont buy lottery tickets and my relatives are all big spenders. The last 6 months have flown by so not long to go.

However I went bankcrupt under the LILA route. Since then I have got a job. I did inform the AIB of this and they now want a SOA to see how the wages are spent. (Thank god cos they never got back to me when I told them of job and again when I had wage rise. Was worried they didnt know). Fair enough cos if I had got the job earlier I would not have needed to go bankcrupt. My initial debt was not that high just impossible to pay at the time.

So I am going to put up my SOA over the weekend. Any help as to how I can fill it would be appreciated. Could anyone direct me to a sticky bit that advises on filling this in.
