Nationwide Mortgage Application

Hi,
I am purchasing a property and applied for a Nationwide Mortgage for 68k through a broker. I have 50k to put deposit under. He made a full application.
Now I have contacted the broker today and he said my application has been referred to Nationwide Head office for further checks. Is that normal?
I dont have any problems with my credit. I have afew credit cards with no balance outstanding.
My experian credit search history is:-
Dec 08 - Loan applicatioon from DFS for furniture - which was accepted through Blackhorse - still paying £105 a month.
Apr 09 - AIP done through Nationwide - immediate decision and got accepted online. As it was done in Apr the AIP has expired now.
08/09/09 - Current Account search from A&L
Should I worry?

Well, Nationwide mucked me about for months and months on my first mortgage - we were squeaky clean but they simply kept delaying. Decided to cut our losses and Skipton accepted us striaght away. Nationwide still owe me £300.
I wouldnt worry though - may just be a routine check.0
