Reclaiming MEAF

Hi
Has anyone had a mortgage with B&W in the last 3-4 years? I tried reclaiming the MEAF, but was told that they would not refund it and said it was a legitimate charge.
Anyone else had any success with them?

I assume you mean -
Mortgage Exit Administration Fee
and not
Midlands Ethnic Albanian Foundation
as google stated when I typed in MEAF.
Just rule of thumb! They will say this anyway. I assume you phoned up and was kind in voice?
I believe there is a very old template on this website somewhere. People might direct you to this. Otherwise a standard complaint letter is suffice.
Also type in mortgage exit fee and FSA in google.Motto: 'If you don't ask, you don't get!!'

What is MEAF, and is it contagious? Any reason the lender should repay it?0

Exit fees are tricky, I am much more at home ethic Albanian foundations - a real font of knowledge.
I take it you were happy with the T & Cs of your mortgage offer when you took out the mortgage? Why the bellyaching now? We all pay fees for many services and if we don't wish to pay then we don't have to accept the service. What is different to a mortgage?0 -

Which is the correct answer if its a Mortgage Exit Administration Fee
It its Midlands Ethnic Albanian Foundation and the complaints are about black and white then there are lots of laws dealing with that.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA).
