Storing avocados

Hi all, i did a quick search but couldnt find my answer.. what is the best way to store avocados please?

I just bought a bag of them for 29p, but i'll never eat them all in one go... can they be frozen? can you preserve them any way?

can anyone think of anything else to make with them except guacamole?

    How about hollowing them out slightly, then mix the avocado you remove with prawns and marie rose sauce, then put back into the avocado shell? yummy :)

    I find avocados go well with eggs so i will often have an omlette with a side dish of avocado

    Not sure about storage but my favourite is chicken breast, crispy cold bacon, avocado & mayo baguette!

    I love avocados so they never last very long in this house but there's a thread here that might give you some more recipe ideas:
