  • We saw broker last week missile and will be seeing him again this. Was just using the bank holiday weekend to get as much info together as possible so as to make decision re which mortgage and in whose name etc. Think we have it sorted now. It has been useful in that at first I felt a bit overwhelmed by it all but it has come together in the end. Bit like sitting exams I guess!

No disrespect to the good advice you have been given on here, but why not see a morgage broker? There are many who will be pleased to give you free advice and you may find they will get you a better deal from your current lender than is available to you doing it yourself.

Is that not exactly what this forum is for? I am a mortgage Broker and have given help without charging?
  • And most appreciated it is too Andy.

That is clearly stated on your footer. As I said no disrespect intended, but I hope you will agree face to face meeting with a "good" broker is the way to go. The OP has seen one, but apparently he was not able to answer all his questions and IMHO the OP may benefit from seeing more than one advisor.

Not necessarily only face to face- it depends on what you are comfortable with. Some people are happy with internet/telphone based brokers.

As long as everything is explained properly there is room for all types of communication/business channels

But definitley a good whole of market adviser

Agreed and from the OPs orriginal post "Just rang Nationwide" it seemed to me that he needed specific advice which may not be available from a tied agent and precisely why I suggested he see a broker.
