Staff car parks, damage liability

Hi, can anyone give me some advice .
The staff car park at my work is owned and run by my employers and staff are directed to park at this location. Recently, a number of vehicles were damaged deliberately by persons unknown (body work damaged using implements to cause deep scratches). Is my employer liable in anyway?

Very unlikely, you have to prove your employer was negligent for them to be liable.0

If no risk assessment has been done on the car park, is this enough to class as negligence?0

A risk assessment would probably not consider issues such as whether the vehicles parkeed there were at risk of attack from vandals."You were only supposed to blow the bl**dy doors off!!"0 -
Under UK law to prove someone is liable you need to prove negligence. This in effect is that the damage could "Reasonably" have been avoided.
How would you suggest the employer could reasonably have avoided the vandalism to the cars.0 -
Do you mean for example, appropriate fencing should be up, CCTV etc?

Thanked you by accident.Do you mean for example, appropriate fencing should be up, CCTV etc?
Thanks
No, someone would have to prove the employer was negligent.
A disgruntled employee (or a local yobs) keying a few cars on their way to work is annoying, but does not make the employer liable for it.

It's so annoying, I have been a reliable employee for 28 years, get re-located to another area and then this happens.... but I guess this is life.... unfortunately, the damage to my car is £391 all for a moments fun by some yob! but thanks for all your replies0

This is what insurance is for. I can't believe you seriously expect your employer to be liable in any way moral or legally.
Also to add in this day and age having any sort of parking facilities free should be considered a benefit.0 -
Its park at own risk, ive been there myself and been shafted shall i say by a past employer, well not shafted but they didnt really care,0

A car park is not park at own risk, the owners have responsibilities under law but they have to be negligent for you to be able to successfully sue0
