Hi everyone
I completed my forms, got my fee and booked my court appointment, which is the 20th November!
Do you think i need to have my forms checked before i go, i have checked checked and re-checked them! Just want everything to run smoothly on the day, I have to be there for 10AM.......just wondered if anyone would like to share there experience as to how long your at the court, what actually happens etc. I'm quite scared, will i get "told off" for been in this debt, it totals up to £27K
All answers and advise muchly appreciated!

You are taken on an open court through the town, with BANKRUPT daubed on the side, then the towns-people have the chance to throw rotten fruit at you while you are in the stocks for the regulation 12 hours
Then it gets nasty.............0 -

Hi samyc, we do not go to court until after you so I cannot speak from experience, however after reading numerous threads on here of peoples experiences at court, they all seem to suggest the same thing. That is of it being something of an anti climax, not the best description I know but not too sure how else to describe it. I have not read of any posts of people being "told off" lectured at or being belittled, most say that the staff at the courts are helpful and not judgemental at all. You may not even see the Judge, as quite a few posters have stated that this was the case with them. Hopefully one of the posters who as actually gone through the process will be along to answer your question shortly.:pB&SC No. 298

Good luck!BR 22/10/2009 ED 08/07/20100 -
My advice would be take a book, especially if you go to A BIG CITY COURT however you may get lucky and be in and out in no time. The whole procedure is very civil servant so no excitement and no John Deed.
I would sum up by saying, "it's all rather dull";). Good luck with it all but there is really nothing to itBetter to be poor than a slave to wealth

I posted my experience on the Oct 2009 BR club thread, its really nothing to worry about. County courts are not like the courts you see on TV the judge sat in an office and i was only in there for 5 mins he checked my reasons for BR asked if i had sought advice then declared me BR. Like a lot of people say bit of an anti climax lol! The OR interview is generally the same but hard not to get yourself worked up. Im really glad i found this forum to help me through the process.0

I took my paperwork into the court on the Monday and then went back on the Tuesday for 09.30. I got there a bit early and sat Reading my book for a bit before the court clerk came out, gave me my paperwork back and said judge did not need to see me. I was actually declared br before I had even parked my car!! So it was nowhere near as bad as I had worked myself up into thinking it would be. Good luck for your court date x0
