Hi milo,
Someone will confirm but i think i've read somewhere (was it you Phil?) that council tax arrears from previous years are included in BR, but not from the current year.

hi milothewestie i by my understanding if you have any arrears then your council tax arrear will be wiped off up to the date of your bankruptcy order was made. you will become liable for council tax from the day of your Br Order onward. Council tax is calcaluted daily apparently.
did you get a liability order before your bankruptcy order ?
what happen usually is that the council tax people close your account with all the arrear and then create a new account in your name starting and cahrging you from the day you became bankrupt.
To be honest council are a law unto themselves , there are few peopel including myslef on this board who had few problem post and past bankruptcy.BSC number 1830 -
When I went BR, I notified the council and all council tax arrears for all years were included up until the date of my BR. I was then sent a new bill for the remainder of the financial year from the date of BR which was paid by monthly direct debit as usual.Dogs have owners...my cat has slaves...0

If you are in arrears in the current year, and they have applied for a ccj before your BR, then this year also falls into the BR.0
