Is this ok to eat?

Options
Hi
OH does lots of the cooking and he got some diced Turkey out of the freezer on Wednesday night and put it in the fridge. He is making a curry (for himself as i dont like turkey) today with it. Is it ok after 3 days in the fridge?I am "funny" where meat is concerned!
Thanks x

    Hi gilly,

I'm a bit 'funny' where meat is concerned too :). I'm not sure I'd be happy to eat three day old defrosted turkey, but from reading older threads on Old Style a lot of people say that if it looks ok and smells ok then it should be fine.

    Thanks Pink
he said it smelt ok---I didnt bother smelling it as I cant bear Turkey!!!
OH does this all the time--he often eats out of date food---I am the complete opposite. I have learnt over the years to let him get on with it!!
My only worry is LOL--he is doing 12 hours at work tomorrow on double pay!! Dont want him "ill" for that!!

I have double standards. I'm fanatical about sell by dates but will use the 3 day rule on anything out of the fridge or out of the freezer left to defrost. If it isn't eaten or cooked and then frozen on the 3rd day though I sling it.

I think that as long as the meat is thoroughly cooked it should be ok, especially since the turkey smelled ok. I have used defrosted fish/poultry after two or three days and have had no problem.
Be careful who you open up to. Today it's ears, tomorrow it's mouth.
