Loan Company advise needed

This is a bit long winded so please bare with me. My Husband took out a loan with Lloyds TSB 2 years ago, I was present when this Loan was created and the repayments come out of our Joint Bank account.

In August I was deleting a couple of obsolete Direct Debits on our Online Banking but I also accidental deleted the Loan payment DD, and this is where the trouble begins.

Within a week we had a letter in the post regarding the canceled DD with an included new DD mandate which we returned instantly, I phone them up to explain and sort the situation but they will not speak to me as the loan is in my Husbands name :(. Now my Husband works long and odd hours and has virtually no idea about our financial situation; Bills, etc, as I deal with everything so talking to him is totally pointless.

So I called my local branch and spoke to my Bank manager who tried to help but only managed to get me back the Charge they stuck on, not much else. Anyways, about another week later another letter arrives asking for my husband to contact them asap regarding the repayment of the missed payment. At this point I wrote up a letter which he signed asking them not only if they could write this one payment of as a payment holiday aswell as giving permission for them to deal with me. No reply arrives. Another 2 weeks pass and suddenly the amount we pay monthly has been withdrawn from our savings account, no questions no warning, nothing. 3 days later they also took the September payment from our joint account. £800 within 3 days hits you pretty hard but I thought ah well at least the situation is sorted now...............NOT so, the due date for the October payment arrived 3 days ago and they have not taken the payment all though the cash is sitting in the account. As they never replied to any of our written correspondence I have no idea why this is and what will happen next but I can guess we will be back at square one, where they send threatening letters again. What a headache.

What is the advise here and are they within their rights to keep messing us about like this as no doubt they will charge us yet again for another missed payment!!!???

Have you checked your list of DD's through your on-line banking, to see if they set the new one up after they got your form ?
