I have a with-profits policy but it is due to mature in May 2005. Is there anyway that people like me can benifit from this share windfall. After 20 years of paying in and suffering the disappointing results it would be good to get some comeback. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. :-( Only With-Profits policy holders will benefit...
Those of us sensible enough to invest our SL pensions into non-WP funds get nothing...
So much for the great advice the company IFA gave me then (well, what should I expect). >:(
Looks like I'll be transferring out of SL just as soon as possible.

thanks for taking the time.

FLO- obvious too early for the mechanics to be published - suppose possible they will offer then chance to roll over the investment in a bond to carry on the qualification.Any posts on here are for information and discussion purposes only and shouldn't be seen as (financial) advice.0

Does this include my endowment policy with Standard Life? the one that im trying to get a claim for miss-selling of? I mean would I be benefit from this windfall thing for that coz it's the only one I have with them

If you still hold the policy, and its W/P and the demutal comes off, then yes.
In the past windfalls were usually not taken into account when looking at compo (regularly challenged)
personally I think its unfair to get / both (or for compo to not to be scaled down)
The amount available for windfalls (pot) is being reduced by claims paid by SL for plans sold by them / tied agents.Any posts on here are for information and discussion purposes only and shouldn't be seen as (financial) advice.0 -
Ok thanx, even so I'm still confused
I don't have a head for this kind of thing. But it seems like it might be a while before it does come into effect if at all anyway so I'll just take it one step at a time. Having the miss-selling claim too just makes me more confused coz I wasn't sure if what way I chose go with the comp claim would effect the other. How long do you think it would be before any winfall payments are made and how much would it be about and do we get offered shares aswell or just shares as the windfall?
The tied agents thing is that like I got my house through the Halifax but my endowment is through Standard Life and SL are the ones I'm claiming misselling with... So that bit might effect me?Thanx

My understanding is a vote in 2006, so actual event could be sometime later!
Where you broght/ claim the compo from does not effect any windfall claim - it s just me saying this claims (if dealt with by SL and not an IFA) are actually reducing the ebedded value for the with profits holders.Any posts on here are for information and discussion purposes only and shouldn't be seen as (financial) advice.0 -
Hi all,
We have a Standard Life With Profits policy that is due to mature in 06/06.
Does this mean that if Standard Life convert to a PLC after this date than we do not get the windfall.
