Steam Generator Irons

I want to purchase a steam generator iron, to take all the annoying hassle out of what is possibly the most mundane tas in the world!

I have seen this from Argos:

Is it any good?

More importantly, what should i be looking at when purchasing a SG iron? Any advice on spec would be helpful!

I really want an iron that really works. I am so bad that when I send my kids to their dads his girlfriend openly laughs at my attempts!!

    Help!!

These irons are so big and bulky, do they work though!!

hi redzak in reply to your message my iron went bang last week and have always promised myself a steam generator one after my friend told me how good hers was. brought a russell hobbs one for £64.99 half price in comet and she was not wrong they are absolutely brilliant. Mine glides through the clothes with hardly any effort and there is adjustable steam levels as well.

That iron was recommended to me when I asked the same question.

How did I survive without it before?????

I breeze through a weeks ironing in no time. Really good for jeans too

just a quick question, are these recommended for everyday use? as in, in our house we only iron clothes when they are to be worn and not at the start of the week in bulk.

how long does this iron take to heat up? and it is worth heating up just for 1 shirt?

they have cheap ones at tesco
  • We bought a Morphy Richards one, about 4 years ago and it is amazing. The steam generator broke in the first one after 18 months, and we contacted Morphy Richards who were amazing. They agreed to send us a new one asap. The next day that contacted us to advise they were out of stock, and asked us if we had an interim iron, as we didn't they sent us a brand new steam iron (standard type) which we could keep, until the steam generator was sent out. We had that Iron the next day, and the steam generator Iron about a week later.
