Potting compost question

I live in a very small flat with no garden, but I'd like to have a go at growing my own herbs. I use them a lot and it would save me a bit of money as well as the herbs looking pretty!
I was in Asda today and noticed that they sell bags of potting compost. The "ordinary" bag is £2.99 while they do a smaller "Smartprice" bag for 89p. To be honest the smaller bag would probably suit me, but I'm worried about the quality of the compost.
Has anyone used the Smartprice compost and is it any good? Or would I be better off going for the more expensive one?
Thanks chaps!

Hiya
I have used the smart price compost and is very good, just as good as the more expensive. There might be slightly more pieces of wood in it than in the expensive ones. If you wanted to use it for seeds you would have to sift it. HTH.0 -
