Hi all
Any advice would be much appreciated.
My dad is 74, 75 in February, and finds himself in need of a loan.
My mum is finally getting out of hospital after a year but in a wheelchair so he needs an adapted car.
He owns his own home but will be putting it on the market once they are allocated an adapted council house.
I guess my question is would he be able to get a bank loan (hbos customer most of his life) or is he too old?
Thanks in advance
Jae

Hi Peachy
Unfortunately they are not eligible as mum as 68, you have to be under 65 and on the higher mobility rate of DLA to qualify.
Thanks for replying

DH has sometimes talked about getting a car loan, and he's 74.
I would guess that it depends more on your credit rating than on your age.
PS: Mum should apply for Attendance Allowance, that will help with the costs.Ær ic wisdom funde, ær wearð ic eald.

what is his income
can he afford to repay the loan0 -
Age will not come into it - affordability will - they may also put pressure on him to take out a life policy to cover the loan as loan protection will not apply due to his age.0
