Yes, I do.
In fact, people always have, traditionally. One of the things I like about the etiquette of rinding clothes is the silly things of history it teaches: black gloves used to indicte mourning, we are told, so one never wears black gloves if trying to be correct, though you might wear a black jacket/black boots, you wear brown/tan/yellow gloves.
I quite often wear my brown boots with a black dress. FWIW I also often wear black gloves.0 -
My this season's 'going out shoes' are black patent with chocolate brown band and ankle strap and a taupe band, so yes, I'd say it's current. Be brave!

Well I'm the most unfashionable person in the world so don't take clothing advice from me, but I think a whole outfit colour-coded black and brown would look nice. You'd look odd if you had say, a brown outfit and just black shoes with it. I think personally.
(Black and brown reminds me of those liquorice allsorts too)0 -
I never used to because of the whole 'should be either/or' but I do now and I agree it can look nice0

I don't wear brown as I dislike the colour. I do however, wear black and blue together and I was always told that this was a fashion no-no.4.30: conduct pigeon orchestra...0
