My little boy are having a Halloween/5th birthday party on Saturday. We sent out 26 invites 2 weeks ago and up till today we only received 9 replies.
I'm supposed to go food shopping for the party today and are having problems deciding how many to buy food for.
What if people just been forgetful to let me know they will turn up.
I cant phone around to ask either (like my MIL suggested) I dont have any phone numbers or know any of the parents.

my best mate always caters for half the kids she's invited to her little boy's birthdays, he was 5 a couple of weeks ago and there was plenty of food to go around0

Kids never eat that much anyway so i would base it on 15 children.

I’m back and more determined than ever!!!!!0 -
What sort of food are you having? I find children always eat surprisingly little at parties so you will probably naturally over-cater. I too would base the buying on 15 children. That is so rude for parents not to let you know, I would never do that. Hope you all have a great time x:wave: If you want the rainbow, you've got to put up with the rain :wave:0

I also would assume around 15
I think it's really rude not to reply to an invite, it causes all sorts of hassle for the person throwing the party.Cross Stitch Cafe member No. 32012 170-194 2013 195-207.Hello Kitty ballerina 208.AVA 209.OLIVIA 210.ELLA 211.CARLA 212.LOUISE 213.CHARLEY 214.Mother & Child 215.Stop Faffing Completed 2014 216.Stitchers Sampler. 217.Let Them Be Small 218.Keep Calm 219. Thank you everyone. I've taken your advices into consideration and guesstimate 15 people will turn up.
Gonna make cheese, ham and jam sandwiches cut out into witches, pumpkins and ghosts with the help of cookie cutters (left over bread and filling will be used as a savory bread & butter pudding for us to eat later) Cakes and muffins, mini sausages and sausage rolls, crisps. These items can be wrapped up and saved. I'm gonna skip jelly and ice cream.
Didn't bother with the toys for the party bags either, they get a couple of sweets, lollies and a Halloween balloonI think it's really rude not to reply to an invite, it causes all sorts of hassle for the person throwing the party.
I'm just disappointed for my little boy really if not many turns up since he has been looking forward to this and planning it since April0 -
