Whereas I think it is fine for people to buy repos - they are the same as any other purchase and they do allow the repossessed some form of closure in that the final sale allows the losses to be crystalised.

I find it somewhat distasteful to act like vultures grazing on the carcasses of the repossessed. There are many bargains to be had without specialising in those that have suffered such misfortune.

This is why the behaviours of the likes of carolt really disgusts me so much.

My comment wasn't a swipe at Carolt, the property that she looked at wasn't marketted as a repo. Just seems odd that there are people who actively search out repos.

I actually think that the best deals can be found when people are prepared to take low offers to get places sold and move on with the next stage of their life.

I'd always assumed that repossessions were obvious because of those little ads in the paper etc.

    ......

What was interesting is that it was not marketed as a repo anywhere. The EA told us verbally before we viewed, but it is nowhere mentioned on any of the marketing material (or only insofar as it is "chain free", but then so are plenty of others that aren't repos).

It made me wonder how many other repos are out there, without one being aware of it, unless one specifically enquires?

Considering you come across as a real nasty piece of work nollag, I'm sure you've experience lots of what "comes around..."

Before you may look down on others, it is necessary to take the moral high ground. From reading your recent posts, I don't believe you've done that yet.

Get a sense of perspective. Carol viewed a house; she didn't hit babies or steal pensioners' savings. A couple of personal attacks on one forum member in 24 hours doesn't make you look good, no matter what it does for your ego.

That's it. When we took a lot less than we'd originally hoped for, we judged that we'd done enough sitting about doing nothing in particular, so it was time to make something happen.

Finding something else was then dependent on making a similarly good deal to cover the shortfall, simple as that.

Had prices risen, or had we not found what we wanted, we'd have had to settle for less and admit that we'd called it wrong.
