house insurance requirement for mortage ??

hi all,
the last thing i need for my mortage to go through is house insurance (entry date is this friday,2nd june).
i would have got it done weeks ago,but was overseas with work.
i bought insurance online yesterday on friday,but am slightly concerned that i may not have the actual certificate of insurance in time,as they say they send paperwork for me to sign,which i then return,THEN i assume the certificate comes out.
so...........does anyone know if the bank (Band of Scotland mortage) will need an actual certificate,or if they will just need some sort of proof that the property is insured eg the confirmation email i got from the company,stating property address,date of insurance starting etc.
if it makes any difference at all,i am using a mortage advisor,not dealing with the bank direct (she wont be back in office till monday).

just give them the policy number and they should be able to check with that.

thanks,its just a bit of a stress as it could potentially be a fly in the ointment,but hopefully not.
will be able to speak to the mortage advisor on monday,and the solicitor,but was just trying to put my mind at ease over the weekend.
