I recently opened a basic bank account that I can use in the local post office, and, when the application form arrived it was addressed to the place next door, so when I filled out the application form, I enclosed a letter with the title INCORRECT ADDRESS, PLEASE CORRECT.
Duly as expected I received an apology for the wrong address, to the wrong address, and I phoned them, thinking about my cash card, and pin number... and financial security, I was told the address had been ammended and no card or pin numbers had been sent.
the following day I received my pin number. You guessed it to the wrong address, and I have yet to see my card.
Anyway, about 9 different phone numbers to call, and around 5 hours on the phone, numerous letters, and still I live next door to myself.
Only, today I receive an apology, to the wrong adress, and now I have changed my title too, what is going on?
Should I cancel the bank account, or stay with the ongoing saga, I have got a direct debit I set up on this account, when I thought the address was corrected, which comes out on 7th August, I can not pay any money into the account, as I am afraid to in case I lose it.
Oh, they may charge me if there is no money in the account when the dd comes out... Like hell I will pay that charge, under the circumstance.
Any advice for me. I dont like banks, I only got the account to be on the internet, thats all.

I would be really cross >:(. I am not sure but I think they are in breach of the data protection act. I would speak to somebody senior and try and get some financial compensation out of them.
p.s. you may have more like putting this on the vent board!!!:heart2:Mum to my little Daisy 3 and Archie 1.:heart2:0 -
Yes this is a serious security breach if they are sending cards and pins to the wrong address.
Something similar happened to me once before, when i moved house and notified them of my address, but shortly after my address reverted back to the old one. My card was sent to my old address without my knowing it.
My advice is to write and complain to head office. Mention security and data protection, and request a reply within 7 days. Send it recorded delivery too. They will have to respond to that. This is what I did, and I received a very grovelling letter back, and a £75 credit to my account as an apology (way over anything I might have expected!)
Good luck!Let us know how you get on.
