On the whole you can just compare the ingredients, for example solpadeine, migralieve (the 2nd one), feminax etc are all just 8/500 cocodamol. When it comes to cold remedies, most are paracetamol based, many at a fairly low dosage (say 650) so own brand or plain paracetamol is fine. My own exception is night nurse, somehow nothing can match it but that may well be placebo effect!

If you mean Ibuprofen and Nurofen, the active ingredients are identical. Any difference you perceive is psychosomatic.

the active ingrediants are all the same and in the same amounts so why pay branded prices?
