Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare 2: Prestige Edition: Hmv Exclusive

Options
HMV has the prestige edition back for preorder. Comes with working night vision goggles. Its not necessarily a bargain as its still £120 but it sold out fast before. Peeps have already put their preorders on ebay which are selling for over £150!

Thanks for this, I didn't even know about the prestige edition! But my son's going to love it
  • My husband wants the game for Christmas but is this set worth the higher price? Sorry to ask but i dont know about this game. He loves all the call of duty games so i am guessing this is ideal for a big fan....

The googles are real life working Night Vision goggles! As awesome as they sound i cancelled my preorder as i cant justify the extra cost. But the publishers have said its a proper limited edition so the value should hold better than say the Halo 3 LE helmet that lost its value straight away.

I've put in a preorder with my local asda to guarantee a normal copy there. Its probably going to be massively reduced at the supermarkets - hopefully around about the £30 price range.

Why do you say that? The previous game held it's high price value for over a year after release, even the preowned ones were scarcely cheaper than buying new (I remember trying to find a cheap one to replace a broken disc)! Also this game is rrp £55, £10 dearer than the usual xbox new releases, that's why most places are selling at £45ish.
Don't get me wrong, I do hope you get yourself a bargain but I wouldn't count on it.

    It's only a game

For new releases, supermarkets generally reduce them for a few days to get peeps in the store. They did it for FIFA, mario/sonic at the Olympic and asda did it last year for cod5.

For cod5 , most asdas had 100+ queues at midnight! I went into the Bristol cribbs asda and it had sold out by 11am the day of release :(

This is going to be a very controversial game!
