How long is a piece of string? Another mortgage question!

I'm not the most financially savvy person and I'm not sure what to do. I just thought I'd ask you good people what you think having skimmed a few threads and seen how helpful people are!!

My 2 year fixed deal (5.79%) comes to and end next April (yes, I know things could be very different then!)....how I wish I'd taken out a tracker for 2 years but that's another story!...

I'm with A&L and their SVR is one of the worst at 4.99% - still it's better than mine. I'm wondering whether to stick with that for a while and risk it, of plumping for another fixed or a tracker. I dont' really understand offset morgtages but I don't think it would suit me as I have no large savings to speak of.

My house is worth approx 150k and I will need a mortgage of about 97k when I come to remortgage.

Is anyone else in a similar situation at the moment?

Thanks for your time
