Thanks for that! I shall go up there and get some of all the veg, I think! Between us and the guinea pigs we'll eat it all
:T May get some gammon steaks, too. I would get some mince, but my freezer list tells me I've already got 6 x 500gm in there....... ooops!:o:D Possibly some bacon medallions would be a good purchase too!

Pippin12 - many thanks, that is a great selection for myself. If I can't pick up any bargains to beat those prices, then I know I'll not have to pay more than 49p for the next 2 weeks.
rachb, I know what you mean, but approx 22p per lb is a great price. I wish it was this price every week in Aldi/Lidl etc. Better than 69p per kg.
One of the good things with the Super 6 is that the bigger supermarkets sell less of the above and often have to reduce their higher priced stuff - get ready to grab those bargains. lol
I think I'll use all six this time.

Smaller nets of onions have recently been reduced sometimes to only 4 kg rather than 5 kg. And they are no longer always available for only £2 - they are often £2.25 or £2.50. So unless you are wanting to purchase a 25 kg net 49p for single kg packs is indeed a special offer nowadays.0

(For singles or couples who only use one onion regardless of size the current batch of basics onions in Tesco are very small. Although they are 63p for a kg you may receive more portions and have them last longer if you are not a batch cooker.)0

As I have never cooked with butternut squash before I posted on the Oldstyle forum asking for ideas and the replies have been brilliant - so helpful. I'm really looking forward to trying out many f the recipes that have been shared. Linky below if anyone else has no idea what to do with butternut squash
