    Thanks for the replies everybody, much appreciated. Have just applied to transfer my gas and electricity to another supplier (done it via this site , so hope to get £30 cashback) this will reduce my outgoings by approx £70 per month if it accepted.

    Next time use a cashback site like https://www.topcashback.co.uk to switch providers as that way you get all the money paid to you. I just got £80 for switching.
    RENTING? Have you checked to see that your landlord has permission from their mortgage lender to rent the property? If not, you could be thrown out with very little notice.
