You might've noticed some strange goings on at 'Coke Zone' last week... A small technical problem meant some items ended up on the site which we didn't have, and one – the Solar Keyring, which you ordered – appeared with a pricing error which showed it at 0 points.
We're really sorry, but this item is usually 150 points, so we can't let you have it for free.
But it's not all bad news... To apologise for the inconvenience we've credited your account with 20 points to spend on anything you like.
And even more good news, the site is now back to normal, with loads of prize draws to enter and rewards for you to claim.
So why not head back to 'Coke Zone' now and see what you could get?
oh well
Ron

Yeah, I just got that too. I thought a shop had to honour the price they marked on an item:-(0

Just got the same email. Was wondering why it took so long to send them out.
I was also under the impression they have to honour, but because its free i dont know if they have to.0 -
I don't think a shop have to honour an advertised price, so if you went to the till and they realised the item was incorrectly priced they could still ask you to pay the full price, but once you enter into a contract with them ie. you buy something at advertised price and they accept payment, then you should be entitled to your item. Perhaps the rules are slightly different for internet purchases and also as it was payment with points and not cash!0

Depends on the circumstances. If a shop said the price is £2.59 and you were charged £2.99 at the till, the shop would not be operating within the law if they refused to sell the product for £2.59 when challenged, even if the offer sign should have been removed and hasn't (assuming there is no expiry date on the shelf price.) In extreme circumstances that doesn't apply e.g. a computer advertised as £2.49 instead of £249, which anyone would accept as a genuine error as the price is unbelievable.
In this circumstance grabitnow.com have given away similar items for free, so there needs to be a legal disclaimer on the site to get Coca Cola out of the legal red tape.0 -

you couldn't be more wrong! The shop has no obligation to sell you anything at any price they have it displayed at in the shop.
The goods on display in a ship are there fir you to make an offer to buy but the shop is not obliged to accept your offer. The same applies where goods have been labelled with the wrong price, the shop does not have to sell at that price[FONT=Arial, Helvetica]

unhappyvirgincustomer is spot on, they only have to provide the goods if they have already accepted your money or processed your card. If they notice the mistake before then they can refuse sale at that price and there is nothing you can do but go home have a cry and not shop there again. Most supermarkets honour the ticket price for the first customer that comments on the difference in ticket and till price. they take the ticket off the shelf. I don't think they will accept a 1p Laptop, but its the managers decision at the end of the day.Survey earnings total 2009 £417, 2010 £875, 2011 £5740

I took that information from a Trading Standards fact sheet, but omitted the fact that the retailer has the option to not sell the product at all if it was wrongly priced, but would be breaking the law if they tried to sell it at a higher price then advertised. Hence Coke Zone legally should have withdrawn the product and then relisted it again at a later date as 150 points, not sent out an email telling everyone it actually costs 150 points if you want one, but we'll give you 20 points for the incoveience. However, I don't know how much of a difference points instead of pounds makes legally.0 -
Shame on CocaCola - me like Pepsi more!
20 points - they can stuff that! :mad:0
