second car insurance??

Hi all,
I have just bought my self a cheap second car for a bit of fun for the summer. Does anyone know of a cheap way of insuring a second car as I cannot use my no claims discount twice and my current provider won't let me add a second car for more than 30 days...
this means my cheap second car will cost me £400 a year to insure and not £230 if I could use my no claims discount again...
Any advice appreciated.
The first car policy isn't due to sept. so starting a new policy that will accept both isn't really an option.
Thanks
Simon

Hi - try Quinn Direct who give decent discounts for named driver experience as will your local branch of A Plan.
Alternatively if you only wanted to cover it for the summer use the month by month option from https://www.eCarinsurance.co.uk0 -
Several insurers will give you a second car discount if you have the first vehicle insured with them.... some others have a kind of "wifes car" type discounted insurance but this requires the policyholder to be female.
Two other alternatives would be to get a pay as you go insurance (ie mileage linked) if you are only going to be using it occasionally or you can get personal fleet policies if you have 2 or more vehicles so that all the cars are on one policy. All posts made are simply my own opinions and are neither professional advice nor the opinions of my employers

Thanks all,
I tried various online quotes and the best turned out to be diamond at £370. My own insurance (Lloyds) was £490. I phone Lloyds and they took into account my other car and 5 years no claim and added the online discount still and it went down to £300ish. So I then phone diamond and they requoted and appied the same discount as if I had the 5 years no claims! result = £228. I actually paid £25 for zero excess (It is a cabriolet and roofs aren't cheap - vandals!)
Not bad really..
Thanks

Though you say 0 excess you need to check the compulsary xs - I know both the soft tops I have had had an compulsary excess of £150 on top of what ever voluntary excess I selected. All posts made are simply my own opinions and are neither professional advice nor the opinions of my employers
