Fat feet, need work shoes

Hi

i have always had fat feet and after years of wearing crocs its worse!

just gone back to work so bought some work crocs, but they are not as wide as normal ones and cant say they are comfy.

Remeber being told as a child that I had flat feet, but do seem to have some arches, but they ache.

As a young teenaged girl remeber having to wear `social worker shoes from Clarks as nothing fitted!

Starting to get depressed over it now.

Went in to Clarks yesterday and looked at K`s shoes-remember wearing them before, but need a EE atleast and they did not have much instore, also went into local department store, found some which were wide enough, but no support fro arches, tried some supports but then shoes did not fit as pushed foot out of them! Shoes were £55 and supports nearly £40!

Any ideas?

    Hi
I got a Rohde clog for work and have found them the be most comfortable. There are some here as a quick example.

    http://www.google.co.uk/products?hl=en&q=rohde+clogs&um=1&ie=UTF-8&ei=pLLmSrnCFMSMjAeLz4WnCA&sa=X&oi=product_result_group&ct=image&resnum=1&ved=0CB8QzAMwAA

The upper on the one I got has no seaming and the leather is very soft and pliable and is generously cut. It also has a buckle and strap which is adjustable. The inner has a moulded/shaped insole in leather. I am on my feet for long periods and used to wear Clarks clogs, but this pair is way superior.

They also make a pair in punched leather which look a bit like crocs!!

I got mine discounted at a shoe shop in an outlet village, definitely worth trying on. Clarks are not as comfortable as they used to be IMO!

Go to Evans, they go up to EEE and size 10. Especially designed for ladies with fat feet! stay away from the £20 cheapies that are hanging on the wall, but the Comfort, Flexisole ones are quite nice, very comfy and good for work. I don't think crocs are that suitable for work imho.

  • May be worth checking out ECCO shoes as well - I have wide feet and they fit pretty well

    Thanks for all that.

    I have tried Evans but as I am a 3 1/2 - 4 they start at a 4 and where too big.

The ones I tried on in the department store where EEE, I found out this pm!

Going to try a local independant shoe shop in the next village and see what they say.

Will check out the clogs and ecco.

    Thanks again

M&S do shoes in their footglove range that suit wider feet - they're the only ones guaranteed to fit me, my feet are terribly wide or spread after years of wearing steel toecaps to work all day.:o

  • To make room for the arch supports remove the original insole from the shoes.
