It is fraud if someone is completing forms using your details - hello - am I missing something here or is it cos its early and you guys need a coffee fix.... :naughty:

I understand the differences between guarantor and referee but in both cases using someones details to obtain money (without their consent) equates to fraud!

Had a good holiday? It's been relatively quiet on here without your tendancy to talk down to people!

Putting someone forward as a referee on a loan application is no different/worse than putting someone forward as a referee on a job application. It's just a bit impolite not to ask them first.

My neighbour has responded to my email. She told me that the company involved is called Home Buy. They use my name to confirm who she is, apparently that is it. However, after googling them i have just phoned them, and lady I spoke to told me the same, but also hinted that they use these records for possible future customers. She told me once I have received the phonecall that asks me about my neighbour, I should tell them I want my details removing from the database, which I will. I will also tell my neighbour that under no circumstances do I want her to give my information out to anyone else.

Thank you all ever so much for your replies... and you are all invited to my fancy dress party lol
