CSA Holding on to payments

What can I do I am in need of advise. I am at my wits end about it all. My ex is paying the CSA through a DEO and they receive this at the end of every month and due to my case being clerical the payment is being made on the old system and is having to be requested at intervals during the month the first request on the 9th of the month and then the second on 22nd of the month. Once this request is done it take 13-15 working days for me to receive the payment. This making the payment 6-8 weeks in arrears.

I have spoken to the CSA on several occasions and they state there is nothing I can do I asked for the Name and Address as where to send my complaint and they stated that I shouldnt bother because they do not take any notice of complaints that are down to the time that it takes for payment to reach me.

I have 3 children and bills to pay. The problem I have is that I cannot trust my ex to pay maintenance and thats why he has DEO. Where can I go for help!!!!

Despite the advise given by the CSA I would do the following:

    1) Complain about these unnecesary delays. Make sure you make it a substanital complaint puting in all information. Inlcuding stuff on how the delay affects you, and your family.

    2) Complaint about the quality of advice being given by CSA staff re their advice to not bother complaining.
When dealing with the CSA its important to note that it is commonly accepted as unfit for purpose, and by default this also means the staff are unfit for purpose.
  • I am in the process of writing a very long and lengthy letter of complaint. I just wanted to see if anyone else had experienced this and how they managed to get it rectified. Thanks for the advice. xx
  • Pixie...i did post a lengthy reply but it has dissapeared lol

my situation is the same, the employers have been given the correct ref number 3 times and an inhibitor has been put on but every payment to date has onto the old system.

As the csa also give employers 19 days to make the payment and they do wait the full 19 days in my case ,i have to wait the 19 days + 8 days for it to be requested + 3-15 days to then reach my account, this is alongside it already being a month in arrears.

An example would be the 28th Augusts payment ( for 28th july- 28th aug)was recieved on the 14th October.

The CSA advised me that this does happen with some payments in that although the correct ref is used and an inhibitor is put on it all still fails and it falls back, they advised there is nothing they can do and that apparentely they normally right themselves after the first 3 or 4 payments.

i am waiting on my 5th with fingers crossed.......i think the system is alive and won't allow a human to press a tab and release payment ........

    Great advice from borders there.

This happens a lot and I have been experiencing similar problems in that only a portion of the payment is getting through to me.

As usual I'm in contact with my MP and have put in a letter of complaint. I will update once I receive a reply. I expect it will be a fob off. But I will keep on until I receive a satisfactory response.

I also suggest you put in a complaint of maladminstration. See sticky link for extra info.

Re: website. If you take awhile writing a post on the forums it sort of times out and you lose the post after you have clicked the post reply button. Always cut and paste in future as you have to log in again.
