I know it is quite early to think of getting food prepared as gifts however I want to practice a few items before it gets too close to the big day! Thought we could gather a list of ideas/recipes so we can make some delicious MSE pressies!
At the moment I am thinking:
At the moment I am thinking:
- Mince pies
- Mint creams
- Gingerbread hearts

Good idea, I'll join in too! I just love making lists lol! I've already made my Christmas cakes and have been 'feeding' them with cherry brandy when I remember.
Got small glass bottles, just need to sterilise and then I can make flavoured vodka - going to try aniseed, mint humbug and pear I think.
Want to make whisky cookies or fudge for my brother.
Wan't to try some biscotti for ex-oh's mum and dad's After dinner hamper
For my mum and dad, Ex-oh's mum and dad, my sister and my friend I'm making little food baskets which I plan to give them a week before Christmas - so they aren't left with loads of food and don't buy in extra etc
I hope to include (all homemade of course):
1 mini Christas cake
4 mince pies
4 white chocolate and cranberry cookies
1 mulled wine sachet and bottle of red wine
Think that's it except some decorated chocolate slabs, snowman soup, fairy soup and sweetie jars etc!
I love seeing what other people are doing too!:rudolf: Christmas Addict! :rudolf:0 -

I'm going to use up some of the spare eggs from my chickens to do pickled eggs. Thought it might make a nice change to have some on boxing day with the cold meats and pickles etc. I remember them years ago and they were lovely!:hello:  please play nicely children !0

Last year I did food hampers with (home made!):
Citrus Cake
Shortbread
Chocoalte Truffles (Delia's recipe).
This year, I'll have less time around Christmas (baby due mid December!) so I've made some jam this time! lol That's all they're getting home-made wise!Addicted to Disneyland Paris!

So far I have made a Christmas cake to divide up into 1/4's to give away as a gift to mum, me and friends
Also jars of chutney (Delia's old Christmas book) for cold meats and the rest of the year to go to mum and me
Just collected some glass bottles to make some flavoured oils (chilli and spice) as it looks very easier to give as presents and keep one for me
Will put it in a little hamper and make it look nice with nice labels.
Still to make some pickled onions and might try some piccalili at some stage soon. Will make some mince pies as gifts and some sweets and biscuits.
Have made some Retro Sweetie jars using £1 kilner style jar from Mr A and filled with haribos and swizzles. Gave one as part of a birthday present and it went down a storm! Have made a couple more with the reduced price halloween sweets on sale.
I'm really enjoying the HM theme this year and so far things have been received very well.final unsecured debt to repay currently £8333Proud to be Dealing With my DebtDFW Nerd 1154 Long Haul 1550 -

could someone link me to the truffles recipe? I really want to make these as presents this year.
Also the OP gave me a great idea, my mum loves ginger biscuits but she always says anything with ginger in never has enough so I could make her some extra strong gingerbread items.0 -
Ooo I love baking... not technically Christmas baking but I`m baking some Grantham Ginderbreads and Biscotti for a Fundraising Tea Party on Saturday.
I`m packaging in cello bags with raffia and gingerbread man tags!
For Christmas I`m doing individual Christmas cakes - basic cake mix with some raisins and chopped up cherries, topped with fondant icing and a half glacier cherry! My sis hates Christmas cake as its too heavy but will love these little individual buns.
Might do some Fat Rascals for MIL too!
