Hi wondered if anyone couold help.
Im getting debt collection letters from a company,
now the debt is mine, but they have address it to Mr instead of Mrs
But got the rest of the name right.
Debt was full AOL broadband, which i forgot to cancel when I moved,
but I did have the phone cut off cus the flat was empty for about 4/6 months...
Any ideas, thankyou..

If the debt is yours then I would recommend you either write to arrange to pay in installments or if you can afford to do so you could offer a reduced full & final settlement to pay off the debt (perhaps offer 50%) - there is a template letter for what to include in a F&F offer on the national debtline website - http://www.nationaldebtline.co.uk/england_wales/factsheet.php?page=24_full_and_final_settlement_offers
However if you have not paid anything towards this debt for 6years or more (or 5years in scotland) and providing no CCJ exists the debt could be statute barred which would mean you wouldn't need to pay.
I don't think the use of the wrong title will affect your liability to pay this debt.A smile enriches those who receive without making poorer those who giveor "It costs nowt to be nice"0 -
What about if the surname is spelt wrong and is printed by the company who provided it?One day some company will do what they say they will do and charge a fair charge.:T
Not doing the opposite of that which they promise and charge you a fortune for the privileged.
Or maybe not:mad:0 -
