Credit Union Help

I recently lost my job and had several small debts that needed paying back, but my interest was more than my debts. I was recommended by the CAB to go my local credit union (Hampshire Credit Union). Worked brilliant for me. Small loans at a rate far cheaper than Provident etc. Each credit union offers something different, but if you need digging out a hole its worth finding your nearest one. Hope you have as much luck as I did.:rotfl:

Might it be different rules for different credit unions?
When dealing with the CSA its important to note that it is commonly accepted as unfit for purpose, and by default this also means the staff are unfit for purpose.

If you give your local credit union office a ring they will tell you all you need to know or you could pop in and ask for more info. They may have a brochure which will answer all your basic questions.

i paid £2,50p to join then got a £500 loan off them,
thats the most my CU did for newcomers,
  • Not sure what you expect from them!! They try to offer loans in comparison to your incomings and outgoings. Usually if you have a small oan to start with and you manage to keep up with the regular payments, they will top up continuously.

Remember they are spending other members savinsg so they do have to be careful.
