Reading - Oracle Vouchers beware of annoying quirk when getting refund
Sorry if this isn't about saving money and in the wrong place to post but I thought I should tell people this annoying quirk when using Oracle vouchers.
I bought a pair of £90 boots in House of Fraser in Reading with birthday money credit on my Oracle gift card.
When I returned the boots the next day I assumed they would give me back the money as I had paid (i.e. give me my Oracle credit back) as nothing was said when I made the purchase.
However when doing the refund they refused to refund to my Oracle card and would only give me House of Fraser Vouchers!
I had to argue about it for over an hour until they finally agreed to give me the money back to my debit card.
I didn't want House of Fraser credit as it limits you just to that shop rather than Oracle credit which lets you spend in tons of the shops in the Oracle centre.
I have since found that some shops do give you the refund back to the oracle card (e.g. topshop does) but lots don't, so beware!!!!
