I got a Panasonic breadmaker on Ebay and I'm so excited

Options
I have wanted a Panasonic for ages but just couldn't afford one. I have been making bread by hand but because I have a frozen shoulder I find it painful. Anyway bid on a Panasonic 251 and got it for £35!!!! Oh has been to collect it and is on his way back now. I can't wait to use it.

What should I make first? What do you suggest?

Ciabata (sp?). This was the last loaf I baked when I borrowed a friends panasonic BM. It was deleicious and I wish I'd baked it first, then I would have made lots more!
some people grin and bear it, others smile and do it :)

Any kind of bread you like to eat?

We bought ours, started it off and ended up with a peculiar shaped loaf about midnight! We sat and ate it with a bit of butter in bed :D Our loaves have improved since then but it was so exciting!

    Enjoy it :j

    Lucky you - mine's a Morphy Richards!

Its lovely when you work the timer out & can come in at night to the smell of fresh bread, or when its ready to take out when you wake up (but it doesnt cut so well for butties then - best made evening before & allowed to cool & rest)........enjoy!

if this is your first breadmaker be prepared for disappointing results with your first few loaves, it takes a while to tweak your recipe, read the troubleshooting tips in the handbook to show you where your recipe might need fine tuning.
If you have already used a breadmaker please excuse teaching granny to suck eggs ;)
we are on our 3rd breadmaker (Morphy Richards) in 6 years, they always seem to give up just outside the 2 year warranty....what a surprise ! But we do bake at least every other day so they are well used .

You will love waking up to the smell of fresh bread filling the house !!! :-)

the best loaf I have made in my Panasonic is the Granary loaf, the flour costs a little more at 0.98p for Hovis Granary malted brown bread flour, but my goodness it is delicious and stay's moist for at least 3 days. Also it is the only healthy bread that my teenage son has ever eaten. Delicious with romaine lettuce and honey bacon (but only when it's buy one get one free).

There's a special offer on Sunflower seeds at Julian Graves at the moment... (2x500g bags for £2) if you fill up the nut dispenser, use white bread flour - voila - sunflower loaf - delicious with a good cheese and grapes

Lol - thanks for sharing that as I know that's something I'd probably do if I wasn't forewarned ;-)

Mah jong - I got my panasonic last week and have been enjoying lush bread ever since - no mistakes (except 1st loaf of apricot and walnut - forgot to set to 'raisin' so it didn't drop in the fruit&nut.... still made a lush loaf though!)
Catkins - I hope you enjoy yours as much as I am mine
