Old Style way of Getting Rid of a Cold?

Have had a rotten cold for a week my glands are huge this morning and tender. Am taking extra vitamin c & zinc & spend a fortune on vitamins each month. Any cheap and effective old style ways of getting rid of a cold would be appreciated, also got mouth ulcers and my skins broken out too - argh!

    Sorry i dont have any advice for you but i would love to know to because this is spooky i am off work today with rotten cold also had a horrible mouth ulcer all week and thats killing and just been and took my vitamin c tablets and hot lemon
