You can get your benefit paid by giro if you have no bank account. I do, they keep going on about ( don't like it) it but I tell them to Go guess what. I have informed them on many occasions of my BR and my problems with banks, by law they have to pay me one way or the other. So don't take any crap from them, it's all about saving them money, meanwhile they spend vast sums on ridiculous correspondence, useless incomprehensible information booklets and back to work agencies, who are only in it for the money and bonuses.

I haven't got a number but any job centre or job centre minion should be able to sort you out, if not tell them about me or get some advice from CAB or whoever

  • You can open a post office card account quickly and easily for benefits. Much safer than giros particulary with the postal strike being on.

The reason the Jobcentre dont like giro is that it isnt safe and secure and costs the tax payer £2.50 for every giro it issues in comparastion to 1p into a normal account and POCA costs approx 30p. Plus if you have more than one giro loss it can sometimes take 7weeks for a search to be done before it is replaced.

Like I said, it's all about dollar. Regarding the post peoples dispute with their tyranical lords and masters and giro's, the DWP kindly sent mine the day before industrial action started, the DWP kindly wrote me a letter stating I could collect my pittance from the job centre in any event.:p

Don't the forms ask if you've been bankrupt in the past xx years? So if its 5 (or even 7) you wouldn't have to declare it on the forms.

As her last bankruptcy was under the old rules it would not count towards a restriction anyway, it would be as if this is the first bankruptcy
