Hi all, where can I go with my friend and her 4 year old girl that wont cost loads? They've done Kelvingrove/Hall already and I don't have kids so I've no idea.

Thanks

Does it have to be Glasgow? My two year old niece loved Summerlee Heritage museum in Coatbridge.
Very good cafe - delicious home made soup - at very reasonable prices.

You said Kelvin Hall so I assumed you'd been to the Transport museum - if not, it's great.

My kids loved Scotland St, but it might be a bit scary if she's not at school yet!
  • Pollok Park is free too. Indeed all museums are. Kelvingrove and the transport museum are jewels in the crown. I used to enjoy a wet day just walking in!

Summerlee is good too, but why not try the Scotland Street School Museum?

Transport Museum is really good, so is the People's Palace...how about feeding the duck's in Kelvingrove Park if its a dry day?

  • Yes People's Palace Glasshouse is good, they're are two Playria handy ~ one nr Templetons and one nr. Saltmarket.
Queen's Park Glasshouse have a reptile/fish/bird wing which is scary.
Tollcross Park has a mangy mini-zoo with parrakeets & a hog or two.
My 5yr old twins love to see the Heavy Horses [TJ, Duke & Baron] if
they're at Pollok Park and also the Highland Cows. The Burrell Collection
is Ok too, in a sad sort of way.
The Yoker Ferry [£1.20/£0.60 each way] is a curiosity, but the neighbourhood
adjacent to each landing site is, sadly, rather bleak. However it is a quick trip on the Clyde.
Failing alll else, a quick tour of the CBD Pound Shops (from Sauchiehall Street -Union Street) usually hits the mark with youngsters.
    Cheerie!

You could try the huntarian at the university. We went looking for dinosaurs and were pleasantly surprised to discover the science museum without the science museum price ie it's free!!. Bit disappointing on the dinosaur point though since they only had one teeny full one, a leg and a head.
