I am considering registering on PeoplePerHour for data entry and typing work presently. Is anyone working as a virtual assistant and if so what tasks does it involve? Do you get plenty of work at from it an what sort of pay do you get for it?
I am also tning of offering book keeping once I have done a course. Is anyone doing proof reading freelance? If so are there any courses you can recommend in order to offer this skill and what are you looking out for when proof reading?

I'm a freelance copy-editor (basically proofreading), and the best-paid work comes through contacts and years of experience. The kind of course you see advertised will do you no good at all when it comes to getting work. The job itself requires excellent grammar and spelling skills, and the ability to spot the tiniest error. The jobs on sites like PPH tend to be very badly-paid.0

You are going to be busy! All three need a good level of accuracy & dilligance. Lets hope you dont get so busy rushing from task to task that your qualitys in each start to falter! When dealing with the CSA its important to note that it is commonly accepted as unfit for purpose, and by default this also means the staff are unfit for purpose.0 -

I have been registered with PeoplePerHour for a little while now and have not managed to secure a bid yet. I would not say that my rate is set high, however I have noticed that their are a lot of freelancers out there who can and will go in at the lowest rate in order to secure the work. Hope you have better luck than me.0 -
TBH I wouldnt bother, if you are really serious about being a virtual assistant then put an ad in your local yellow pages - i used to get a lot of work that way, and word of mouth works well too!0
