A possible new job could put me £360 over the allowed £100 excess on my SOA forwhich i'm living to the penny at the moment being out of work!!and i really want to avoid any IPA the OR may apply...so...
Just wondered if these work expenses that eat up that £360 amount sound plausable to you guys?
PETROL: 25 miles each way (aprox) 50 mile round trip each day £10 and times that by five days a week = £50 times 4 weekly = £200 (leaving an amout of £160)
WORKING LUNCH MONEY: £4 DAILY times 5 days = £20 times 4 weekly = £80 (leaving an amount of £80)
SONS BUS FARE TO COLLEGE: (because now i'm working i cant give him a lift in) 5 days at £2 return ticket = £10 times 4 weekly = £40 (leaving an amount of £40)
UNFORSEEN CAR WEAR: (EATS OIL BECAUSE IT'S AN OLD CAR) £40 4weekly... (no amount left!!)
So thats it, thats how i plan to claim for extra living costs due to extra work expenses, what i'd like from you guys is does this seem plausable to you and do you think the OR will go for it? (i mean it's all true these are the costs i would incur)...and are there any other possible work costs i could claim as essential living expenditures when i start work, perhaps i haven't thought of?
cheers Mark

Think lunches at work need to come out of housekeeping.
It's difficult to tell without your full SOA, can you pop up what it will look like in full?0 -
Thanks for the reply JCS1, as another thread stated you never know who's watching so to post my exact SOA doesn't make me feel too comfortable to be honest, i just really want to know if these sort of work expenditures are acceptable, and they should be really because this is what i have to actually fork out, just wondered what other peoples experiences were with such matters, but yes i suppose i could add the work lunches to the house keeping, it would still be accounted for...cheers Mark.0

hi there
i'd say the car stuff sounds reasonable they might not like the lunches tho, they might deem this as too much. good luck!0
