I adore the smell of glade type candles but they're just so expensive. What are the OS alternatives?
Thanks

Thanks

I don't know if it's strictly OS, but have you tried burners? Just pop a few drops of oil into some water into one and it's a lot cheaper than candles. The Body Shop have a big selection of oils at about £3 a bottle and it lasts for ages. The satsuma one is lovely. The fig one is lovely, and also the line dried cotton too. In fact there are loads that smell delicious. I spend ages in that shop smelling them.

glade candles are quite cheap in morrisons, i was re-stocking them at work the other day, and found that they were £2-3 cheaper than other stores and they were not even on promotion. hope that helps!0

I'll have a look for that. Thanks. I love the oils but my husband says it affects his throat so I can't use it when he's here. Funny that it doesn't affect my asthmatic son. I think it's more to do with the cigarettes that my hubby is smoking rather than the burner! :rolleyes:0 -
Is this the thread? http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=169255&highlight=burners0

Most pound shops do a variety of scented candles - I got a gorgeous vanilla one that doesn't even need to be burning to give a lovely aroma to the room, and its huge so it lasts for ages.0

Oil burners. The most basic ones are just made of unglazed terracotta pottery. You put a tea light in the bottom bit, fill the top bit with water and drop a few drops of a scented oil of your choice into it. It soon scents a room. You can use things like lavender oil for relaxation, or things like citrus for energy, or just buy any room scenting oil designed for burning. There's loads of choice. The Body Shop often bring out seasonal ones and I love their Fireside one this time of year, and they usually do Christmassy ones such as Cranberry or spices. I don't buy any commercial air freshener type products, just either open a window or light the oil burner. Can't remember where I got mine but it was dirt cheap, so a pound shop, probably.2025's challenges: 1) To fill our 10 Savings Pots to their healthiest level ever
