Credit unions

Options
Hi
I was just wondering if any of you had any experience with credit unions?
Do they update the credit agencies- Im thinking this would help build up my credit file?

thanks
Stella

not sure about the credit file thing but there is one here opposite my house (once a week) have thought about joining, to save a little but also to know that if i had an emergency i could take out a loan......i have no credit cards and im not allowed to take out credit, so if the car blows up (which is quite likely) i can hopefully turn to them........really must join

Is it cheaper to borrow through a credit union or is it just that they can help everyone who saves with them?

I love Credit Unions-we have been in one for a while. What I do is set myself a budget for my Shopping etc each month, and try and spend less (all those BOGOF offers) and stick the rest in the Credit Union.Havent borrowed anything from them, but their loans (in ours anyway) go by your affordability and not your CRF file.

Just save a wee bit & then borrow three times what you've saved.Great eh?
