Steak Pudding Help Please

Hello,
I am hoping that someone on here will have the answer to this as I carn't find it anywhere!
How long should I steam a Steak pudding for if the meat is already cooked, so really it is the suet pastry that is cooking and the meat mixture is re-heating?
I am a cook in a residential home and want to make one instead of buying but haven't got 4-5 hours to steam it!
Thanks
Sally

My Pies and Pudding book recommends 2 hrs. and that was with the meat cooked the previous day. The size is to serve 6-8 people.Woofles you need to get out of that house. You are going insane:eek: - colinw

Thanks, I sort of thought I would be safe if I did it for around 2 hours!0

I do mine in the slow cooker. I don't pre-cook the meat and cook it for about 8 hours.0
