I'm not sure if this should go on this board or the new green one so please move it if I've chosen the wrong one. (blame it on "eeeny meeny miney mo .. ) I did searches but found no answers anywhere on the boards.
I'm having a major clear out and have half a box of old videos and cassettes which I no longer want. They were blank ones which I've recorded on myself and I've given the pre-recorded ones to charity.
Can anyone suggest what I could do with them beyond taking them to my local re-cycling centre please? I did think about draping them over areas that the cats come in but would they be any good at scaring them off??!! (they are a bit shiney!!)

Hi bluedog,
It is a bit of an "eeeny meeny miney mo" so how about leaving it here to see what replies you get and then when it drops down the board I'll move it over to see if you get more replies on the green board.
In the meantime, what about www.freecycle.org, someone might be able to make good use of them.

Old video tapes make great bird scarers for your veggie plot. Just pull out some tape, attach it to some canes either in several strands or cordon around precious plants. When the wind blows through, it makes a humming noise that scares the birds away from your little plants!Birthdays are good for you.... the more you have - the longer you live. :j0

Thanks everyone. My OH who doesn't live with me has decided he's going to clear out his videos too now so methinks it will be a box and a half to dispose of ........ so will wait for those and list them on freecycle first, but keep a few for bird scaring off my strawberries.
I can't thank you each personally cos my pc is not letting me use the thanks button so am off to see the techies now!0
