any bargain suitcases???

Options
OH drives me bonkers every time we go away. He wont have a suitcase that has pockets on the front ( drug smugglers may "plant" something ), & he insists on using combination padlocks, which he is always forgetting the numbers & refuses to write them down. I've decided to get 2 medium sized cases, hard bodied, with combination locks built in, & also has 2 keys., & 4 wheels ( easier for me to use. Now I've seen several kinds, but they are SOOOOO expensive. Does anyone know where I can get them at bargain prices? I live in Cheshire.

How about Cheshire Oaks outlet, there are a couple of stores there, also my aunt has just bought some from M&S, she had a 20% off code (not sure what the code is but if you look on codes thread you might find something) valid until 26th Oct I think and they were on 3 for 2 so worked out really cheap.

we weren't allowed to put padlocks on our cases last time we went away, my sister did and customs removed them by cutting through them!

TK Maxx is always a good bet for luggage.

I've had cases from the Tripp outlet at Cheshire Oaks - heavily discounted and good quality (I've got the small wheelrd cabin bag which is small enough for any of the budget airlines carry-on limit and it must have made 20-30 trips this year with no signs of wear) - Tripp are also sold at Debenhams, and often reduced - but the Tripp outlet is cheaper.

To the USA? You can get 'TSA' padlocks that you can still lock but the US customs can open if necessary. Be warned though, apparantly you can buy TSA keys off eBay... so it's as good as not bothering to lock your suitcase...

And for anybody with a case with zips on - you can open the zips with a ballpoint pen, then zip back around and you would never know what someone's been in it (video on YouTube).

Debenhams have medium burgundy or bronze tripp suitcases which meet most of your wants I think, both are reduced from £110 to £58.50 though they might be outside your budget, not sure what price range you had in mind.
