Cheap/Free/Regular things for a 12 year old

Options
Anyone any ideas what I can do with my boy at the weekend? Both parents work full time (one nightshift) and we have one car to get us places. We have shopping/housework commitments at weekends but I could postpone (please) if I could find something for him to attend.

I had thought about volunteering with him but am not sure if he's too young yet. He's not sporty (read lazy) and at 12 he's got a bee in his bunnet about being too old to learn martial arts, etc.

I've tried Netmums but thought I'd ask here in case anyone knows of something fabulous going on around them that he could do.

We're not far from Glasgow City centre

Thanks in anticipation.

What about the Glasgow Climbing Centre in Great Western Road - they do a kids club on a Saturday morning - there is a voucher in the Spree book for a free session but not sure how much it is normally - I always fancied taking my 2 DS to try it out - looks fun and mine are not sporty either.
No Longer addicted to Boots! - Well not today anyway!! :blushing:
